‍A Heartfelt Legacy

This family legacy project captures the remarkable life story of Carole, told in her own words. Through a relaxed, heartfelt interview, she reflects on her earliest memories as a child, her path into adulthood, her first jobs, falling in love, becoming a mother, and the joy of watching her family grow into multiple generations. The goal was to create a lasting record of her voice, personality, and the wisdom she’s gathered over a lifetime.

Capturing Home and History

The video above is an excerpt from a longer, full-length interview lasting between one and two hours.

The full-length recording, just under two hours, was filmed in Carole and Mike’s home, a place filled with decades of love and family memories. The setting provided the perfect sense of comfort and authenticity, allowing her stories to unfold naturally. Alongside the video, the project included digitizing old photo albums to preserve cherished family photographs for the next generation. To complement the story visually, a portrait session was shot on 35mm Kodak Portra 400 film, featuring Carole and her husband, Mike, who have been married for over sixty years. These portraits capture not just their faces, but the bond and history they share.

For Carole’s family, this legacy film is more than an interview. It is a living memory — a way for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to know her laughter, her stories, and the love she poured into her family. It serves as a time capsule, a bridge between generations, and a lasting reminder of the values and moments that shaped their lives.
